The MT965 probe type Vibration Meter and is a product based on piezoelectric effect of artificially polarized ceramics. The meter has a colour display with all measurements indicated simultaneously, plus a colour bar graph for quick indication of the vibration status. The screen display can be rotated to allow the user to read the results of the readings in whichever way the vibration has been tested, there is also a convenient Measure button at the base of the meter for when the meter is used pointing down. Readings can be stored on the meter for later analysis. Based on the measuring requirements, the user can select different probes, a short probe, a long probe or simply no probe at all for flat surfaces. It is suitable for conventional
vibration measurement of mechanical equipment, especially for rotating and reciprocating machinery. It can measure vibration displacement, velocity and acceleration, and is widely used in the fields like machinery manufacturing, electric metallurgy and general aerospace. All industrial machinery vibrates therefore knowing the level of vibration is a useful guide for determining the machine condition. Poor balance, misalignment and looseness of the structure will cause vibration levels to increase. This is a sure sign that maintenance is needed.
